Unification

1

We can receive more than is given.
We can receive less than is given.

If we receive more than is given,
In measure for measure,
The excess of our receiving,
Is given to us by the other side.

If we receive less than is given,
In measure for measure,
The excess of what is given,
Nourishes the other side.

We can give more
Than the situation calls for.
We can give less
Than the situation calls for.

If we give more
Than the situation calls for,
The excess of what we give,
Nourishes the other side.

If we give less
Than the situation calls for,
The deficiency of what is needed
Is made up by the other side.

All giving by the other side
Sets off side reactions,
Whose purpose is to entice us
To engage in the unholy,
To trick us to turn away from God.

Whenever it appears that the situation
Gives us too little,
We interpret the situation as bad.
And this causes us to suffer.

But within the bad situation,
Hidden within all that comes
From the other side,
Is a spark of Godliness.
And it is this spark
That we are called upon to reveal.

2

The descending light
Is the situation we are given.

Our response is our action.
This takes place in Malchut.

Our action initiates
The returning light
That ascends up the tree.

Malchut transforms to Keter,
And Keter is transformed to Malchut.

This is the meaning of:
The end is in the beginning
And the beginning is in the end.

In the unbalanced situation
There is a difference
In amount and quality of
The descending spiraling light
And the ascending spiraling light:
There is a deficiency of one
Or an excess of the other.

The other side
Makes up any deficiency
And absorbs any excess.

The contribution of the other side
Makes a proportionate
Concealment of Godliness
In a present or future situation,
A concealment
We are called upon to undo,
With a corresponding revealment.

In the balanced response,
The descending spiraling light
Couples completely
With the ascending spiraling light.

The two spirals
Wrap around each other perfectly.
Constituting the unification
